Baseball swing key to winning PGA Tournament?
billhaas-humana.jpg            Did you watch the Humana Challenge (Formerly the Bob Hope Desert Classic) in the Palm Springs desert in La Quinta, California this weekend?   Bill Haas won his second title in this event, holding off five players one shot back.
On the 72nd hole, at PGA West Palmer Private course, and nursing a one shot lead, Bill Haas hit his drive through a fairway bunker that ended up perched about belt high on a tuft of grass outside the bunker.  This was a difficult shot from an awkward stance. He said that he feared fanning it or only moving it a few feet.  He did pull off a nice shot that traveled straight and about eighty yards down the fairway using a baseball type swing with an eight iron.
Golf is not all mechanical. This shot is practiced almost never, but somehow Bill adapted and figured out a shot.  "I think of myself as more of a painter and not a mechanic," Bill explained.
